This classroom is designed to meet the needs of students, ages 3-4 years old. At this age, students begin to accomplish more academically-driven tasks, while still continuing to practice fine motor skills. The classroom is now divided into various learning areas that are divided by subject area and skill. A typical classroom at this age will be divided into a student library, nature area, math, language skills, and practical life skills. Students also begin to work with written work, particularly in the areas of letter and number recognition.
Some activities you may observe in this classroom:
- Student drawing number cards and counting out the correct number of beads to match
- Student spooning marbles from one bowl to another using different sized utensils
- Student practicing writing letter “B” and drawing a picture of a bumblebee
- Student stacking 4 blocks from smallest to largest
